COLIN CLIMBS THE ORDER WITH KNOCKHILL DOUBLE PODIUM

KNOCKHILL – ROUNDS 16, 17, 18

Colin Turkington produced another strong showing over the weekend, claiming three top 4 finishes to surge to the top of the standings.
The Team BMW driver secured third place in both the opening two races, to take his BTCC podium tally to 170.
Colin’s 44 points haul was enough to thrust him into the lead of the drivers standings with an overall score of 227 points from the 18 races so far.
The hotly contested action took place in front of a huge Scottish crowd LIVE on ITV and continues in less than two weeks time at Norfolk’s Snetterton circuit.

A super set of results and a fantastic points haul this weekend. Three top 4 finishes is a very good day. We converted our qualifying into 2 strong podium finishes and some heavy points and that’s not always easy in this series. I maybe didn’t have the car exactly where I needed to challenge for wins, but I kept my head down and scored well regardless.

The 3 Series never missed a beat all weekend and this is testament to the continued efforts of the team. The car got stronger and more suited to my style as the weekend progressed, so a big thanks to WSR for this. Knockhill always proves to be a very busy day for everyone, but we handled this well and kept focused on our performances.

It turned out to be a really hot day and definitely physically challenging in the car. It will be important to recover well as we have two more events coming up in quick succession.
