SNETTERTON SERVES UP A THRILLER

TURKINGTON STAYS SECOND AS EXTREME WEATHER DOUBLES THE DRAMA

  • Colin Turkington remains second in the BTCC standings following an extreme day of rain affected races at Snetterton yesterday Sunday 26th May.
  • In one of the most dramatic days of weather ever in the BTCC; warm sunshine and heavy thunderstorms toyed with the drivers and teams as they grappled to make tyre choices and setup decisions.
  • After a damp then drying Saturday qualifying session, Team BMW’s Turkington lined up P9 for a dry race 1 on Sunday crossing the line to bring it home in P8.
  • But it was race 2 and 3 that threw a curveball with opposing tyre strategies and unexpected downpours delivering the drama.
  • Although a difficult day for the 4-time champ, Colin kept his cool and produced three points-scoring results ensuring his spot in 2nd position on the Championship table.
