‘THOSE WHO WORK HARDEST, WIN’ WITH BREEZEMOUNT

TURKINGTON HOSTS INSPIRATIONAL MORNING TO CELEBRATE 6TH YEAR OF PARTNERSHIP

Colin and Louise Turkington hosted an inspirational morning on Friday 6th March at Castle Donington with long term partners Breezemount.

‘Those Who Work Hardest, Win’ was an exclusive session for the home delivery firm’s management team and aimed to showcase the parallels of key themes in Colin’s sporting success and the delivery business. The session was organised to launch the beginning of the 6th year of partnership between the two-man delivery firm and the Team BMW BTCC Champion.

NEW SEASON, NEW YEAR

The session started with a talk from Louise insisting that a new decade is the perfect time to take the company to the next level. With the aim to provoke thought and seek opportunity, she encouraged the Breezemount management to think about decision making, teamwork and performing under pressure. This was followed by an in-depth chat with the 4 times BTCC Champion, delving into his mental preparation, dealing with expectation, self analysis and teamwork.

MOTIVATION AND MINDSET

Colin went on to share some secrets surrounding his high performance mindset; a way of thinking he directly attributes to his success. He also highlighted the importance of preparation, discipline and motivation in achieving greatness.

SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIP

Another key topic on the agenda was ‘people power’, as the pair discussed the team’s role within the highly competitive arena of motorsport.

“Motorsport is all about people working together towards a shared goal, and this extends from the engineers working on my car to the commercial companies supporting my campaign.

I’m indebted to Aaron at Breezemount for continuing to believe in me as we launch our 6th season in partnership.

I’m incredibly fortunate to have an amazing bunch of people helping me do my job to the best of my ability and it’s important everyone feels part of the journey and part of the success. The team is a critical ingredient in any arena, and no more so than the BTCC.”

SYNERGIES BETWEEN SPORT AND BUSINESS

“It’s incredible to consider that Breezemount’s partnership with Colin and Louise is now entering it’s 6th year and we remain incredibly proud to be associated with Colin and the WSR BMW Team.

After a frantic finish to the 2019 season it was fantastic to see Colin equal Andy Rouse’s record of 4 BTCC Championships against all odds – the hard work that goes in all year round really did pay off and it definitely went right to the wire, the big attraction of the BTCC!

Our management team were fortunate enough to have an inspiring session with Colin and Louise last week on ‘Chasing the Margins’, a fascinating insight into the behind the scenes preparations and hard work that goes on in the pursuit of championships and marginal gains.

The synergies in our business of being a Logistics Service Provider that is ultimately measured by performance were clear and the team took some really valuable thoughts and experiences away around self motivation, evaluation and appraisal – motivating us all to look at how we can do things better, remain at the top of our performance tables and reminding us that the results only come with effort – to quote Colin – ‘those that work hardest win’!

Here’s to a great 2020 race campaign with Colin, Louise and the team!
