2024 BTCC SEASON GETS SET TO GO!

  • After a long winter of team and driver shuffles, car upgrades, Tik Tok announcements and rule changes; the British Touring Car Championship will finally return to competitive on-track action this weekend at Donington Park.
  • The long-awaited 2024 Season Opener kicks off on Saturday with a new qualifying format equally as exciting as the winter developments to the field of cars.
  • Just what the starting grid will look like for Sunday morning is anyone’s guess, but you can certainly guarantee the close and dramatic racing will be better than before.
  • New regulations promise to add to the already colourful action, and with a quality grid of world class drivers, the series looks set to provide a sensational season of tin-top entertainment.
  • Tik Tok have joined in on the fun, set to broadcast every race LIVE on the app bolstering the BTCC’s already free and accessible ITV coverage.
  • Four-time BTCC Champ and BMW driver Colin Turkington is keen to get the show on the road and test in anger the upgrades to his BMW 3 Series.
  • Excited by their recent test programme and his preparation, Turkington is hopeful he and the team will be fighting for the crown once again aiming to achieve a record-breaking 5th title in the Drivers Championship.

COLIN’S THOUGHTS

“It’s finally here, our first race weekend of the season! I’m looking forward to starting my 20th season in BTCC and kicking things off afresh with the upgrades to our BMW. We made good progress last week at our final three tests and I’m much more comfortable with the car now.

We’ve learned a lot in the past few weeks, but we won’t really know the fruits of our labour until qualifying on Saturday when everyone is showing their true pace.

The new rules are adding to the anticipation and excitement of the new season and that is fantastic. A big thank you goes to my team at WSR for a huge effort lately – they’ve been putting in a hard graft on the cars after an already busy winter of upgrade work.”
