COLIN TURKINGTON PULLS OUT ALL THE STOPS TO CLINCH A SECOND ROW START AT KNOCKHILL

Colin Turkington delivered another sensational performance in qualifying today at Knockhill, securing P3 in an ultra competitive session.
Laden with 60kgs of success ballast, the Team BMW driver produced a stunning lap just 0.083s off the top spot.
Dry and stable conditions provided consistent conditions for the BTCC field, allowing Turkington and Team BMW to improve the car in morning practice.
Turkington suggests it could be the lap of his season, describing it as a ‘big lap’ around the Scottish circuit.

“That was a BIG lap and a maybe a one-off! I was close in my other runs, but couldn’t quite get there again. It was absolute commitment but that’s what it takes. It could possibly be my lap of the season, there’s always one and that could just be it!

Knockhill is a circuit where it’s difficult for it to come together for you, it’s all about rhythm and space on track, then going on the attack.

We made such good progress today, compared to how things felt last night in shakedown. The team should be very proud of themselves – we made the right decisions and moved the car in the right direction all day.
