NORTH TO KNOCKHILL FOR TENACIOUS TURKINGTON

The British Touring Car Championship makes its annual visit to Scotland this weekend (10th / 11th August), for rounds 19, 20 and 21 of the 2024 season.
Colin Turkington is keen to ‘get back to it’ following tremendous pace at Croft last time out; a showing of fantastic form that was marred by incidents on track in race 2 and 3.

Knockhill is historically, a thrilling day of entertainment for the fans, with the undulations, twists and turns of the Scottish circuit also a high heart rate ride for the BTCC drivers.
Only soft and medium Goodyear compound tyres will be in use for this event; two races on soft and one on medium.

“I think we all love our annual visit to Knockhill, and this time I can’t wait to get going! Since Croft I’ve been keen to get back to it and push even harder for that complete weekend of results I feel we deserve. Last time out, our pace was phenomenal, and I had the perfect car to deliver that race 3 performance; it was just a shame we didn’t get the result. I’m hopeful we can pick up exactly where we left off!

Knockhill is a short but proper busy lap. We’ll have more attempts than the longer circuits in qualifying because of the 50 second lap, which will make that session even more exciting for the fans. Hybrid deployment towards the final hairpin and up the hill across the pits straight should make a big difference so we’ll see how it all plays out.

I feel we are due a dose of some good luck and will be giving my everything. The only way is up!”
