Excitement building ahead of Donington Park BTCC this weekend
It’s all systems go this week as BTCC teams and drivers get the final few days of preparation completed ahead of the second instalment of the 2016 Championship.
With less than 4 days until the Saturday practice sessions kick off, the clock is ticking once again before Donington Park hosts its biggest event of the year. Tens of thousands of spectators will swarm the BTCC paddock over the weekend, with the opportunity of getting autographs and pictures with the BTCC stars now easier than ever. Promising plenty of action on the track, Donington Park never fails to excite and the past 2 years have provided race 3 thrillers!
All eyes will once again be on the 4 Subaru Silverline BMR Racing Levorg’s, as Colin Turkington, Jason Plato, James Cole and Warren Scott aim to further develop the car. Fresh out of the BMR factory at Brands Hatch 10 days ago, the cars showcased incredible promise throughout the two days. Although the team have not had any further running in the cars since Brands Hatch (due to the tight turnaround of the Race schedule); it was critical to digest what they had learned and re-evaluate before advancing into Donington.Relishing the challenge and enjoying the development process Turkington is keen to get back in the seat and move the project forward another step.
“Brands Hatch was a complete success for Subaru Silverline BMR Racing. What has been achieved in 87 days of building and the two days at our first race weekend was incredible.
It was important for us to pull out every little bit of information we gathered over those two days, add it into the knowledge bank and re-evaluate our approach for Donington. I’m confident the forensic method within our analysis and preparation process will pay off come the weekend. I’m eager to hit the circuit and get the Levorg out on track once more!”
