MIDDLE OF THE PACK START FOR TURKINGTON
SUPER CLOSE QUALIFYING LEAVES BALLAST LADEN BMW ON 7TH ROW AT BRANDS HATCH INDY

- Colin Turkington will start round 7 of the 2021 BTCC from P14 following a super close qualifying session around Brands Hatch Indy.
- The top 18 cars were separated by half a second, 8 of those all qualifying on the same tenth of a second.
- Conditions were dry and warm all day providing a consistent day for Team BMW to improve the car throughout morning practice.

COLIN TURKINGTON
That was the best the car felt all day but a 48.4s lap was our ultimate pace with the weight. At Brands Indy that’s the price you pay with the ballast as the times are just so close.
I don’t know how many times I saw that lap time on my screen on those three runs, but we just couldn’t improve on the time.
But look, we’ll look ahead to tomorrow now and aim to get some weight out after race one and score the bigger points in race 2 and 3. I’m confident we can perform well and am looking forward to charge up the order.
